Firm Overview

Organized more than sixty years ago, Roberts & Holland is the largest law firm in the United States engaged primarily in the practice of tax law. Our clients and their advisors, aware that we limit our practice to tax and related matters, believe we have the broadest concentration of tax expertise of any law firm and are uniquely qualified to provide the professional services and technical support they need. Many of our clients rely upon us to augment their in-house tax capabilities to solve technical tax problems, structure intricate transactions and handle complex tax audit and litigation matters.

Our Background
Our founders, Sidney I. Roberts and William C. Warren, foresaw the area of taxation as poised for enormous growth. Initially focused on real estate and corporate taxation, they anticipated the expansion of business overseas, and co-authored a comprehensive treatise on the U.S. taxation of foreign corporations and individuals that became the definitive reference guide for other tax professionals. Building on that expertise, they broadened the scope of the practice to all areas of federal and state taxation. Because of the depth of our experience and our leadership role in the tax community, we are often brought in as special tax counsel on major transactions involving planning, audits and litigation.

Our Commitment
At Roberts & Holland, we are dedicated to maintaining our reputation as the premier law firm in the nation that concentrates in tax law by delivering imaginative, responsive client service through the diverse talents of our approximately 30 lawyers. We work closely with clients to master all relevant aspects of a transaction, so as to maximize the tax economics while achieving the overall business objectives.

The Value We Bring
The increasing complexity of the tax law makes it more important than ever to use a firm that can draw upon a team of lawyers with a broad range of in-depth experience to develop creative and practical solutions to complex business and financial problems, as well as a sensitivity to delivering timely, cost-effective client service.
